First of all, I'm sorry that I haven't gotten around to posting this yet.  With school starting and everything, I just haven't had the time.  But without further ado, the winner is...
 Caroline from Our AG Adventures!
Caroline, please email me so we can send you your prize!  I think we might have another photo contest next year (or maybe even for Christmas!)...

Our Vacation Souvenirs

Whenever you go to somewhere memorable, whether it be for an just for an afternoon or a whole month, it's fun to get a souvenir to remember it by.  Elizabeth and I did just that this summer.
When we went to the American Girl store in Denver, I got the 2-in-1 Surf Swimsuit.
And Elizabeth picked out Marie-Grace's Skirt Set.  We're both very happy with our choices.
In Yellowstone, we bought this hand-made platter and a "Yellowstone National Park" mug, which we use all the time.  And in Rocky Mountain Nat. Park we purchased the white mug.  One mug for each of us!
Does this picture look familiar? It's from my Puppy Love: a Photoshoot post.  I'm wearing the City Sunglasses, "Beach Girl" shirt, and jeans from the American Girl store in Seattle, where we also bought...
... This AG Seattle shirt.  I have a few other AG store souvenir shirts, but this one's my favorite, because it's so comphy that I could sleep in it!  (You know, I might do that someday.)
We got all these, plus TONS of postcards!
What are your favorite kind of souvenirs?  We'd love to hear!

A Movie and a Surprise

Today, after school, Chrissa asked me if I wanted to watch a movie with her.
"What one were you thinking of?" I inquired.
"McKenna shoots for the Stars." she replied.  "I love watching the gymnasts!"
"They are interesting." I said.  "So I think I will join you."
"Great! I'll go set up the movie." Chrissa said as she ran down the stairs.
"And I will make some popcorn."

Chrissa and I settled down to watch our movie, and our dogs joined us.
But personally, I think they were more interested in the popcorn than the movie.  When McKenna ended, I went to get the mail.
"Chrissa!" I said happily.  "Look, we got a package from Liberty!"
"Ya!  I've been waiting for her letter!" Chrissa said.
"What's this?" I said.  "A present from Marie-Grace!"
"Wow, that's pretty." Chrissa said, looking over my shoulder.
Liberty sent me a letter along with the package.  Inside, it said:
'Dear Elizabeth,
Happy Birthday!  A few days ago I got a
package from Marie.  Inside was a
letter for me and a present for you. Marie
... wishes you a very happy birthday. ...'
"My birthday's not tell November." I said, puzzled.
"Maybe she got mixed up." Chrissa cheerfully suggested.  I don't know, but and early birthday gift was a nice surprise.

A Salty Flashback: Sugar

Well, it's the last day of our Dog Week.  Chrissa and I have had so much fun posting about our dogs, and no doubt Sugar and Chocolate Chip have loved the attention!  My final post is, as promised, the first ever Salty Flashback.  How did we get this whole flashback thing anyway?  I'll explain...
Last week, I was cleaning out our closet.  On the very bottom shelf  I found a forgotten box.
"I thought I'd lost this forever!" I said excitedly.  "Sugar!"  My sweet dog came running.  She cocked her head as if to say, "Yes? What is it?"
"Do you remember these?"  I asked Sugar, taking a tiny doggie coat out of the box.  She gave an excited yap as if to say yes.
"All your old dog coats that Nana sewed for you!"
"Hmm... I wonder if I have any pictures of you in these little coats." I said, more to myself than Sugar.  As it turns out, I did.  You can see them below.

In a teapot...
 On a shelf...

... Even in the Landry basket!
Which picture do you like the best?  My personal favorite is this one in our pink Landry tub.

My puppy is all grown up now, but she's just as loveable as ever.
P.S. TODAY is the LAST DAY to enter our contest!

Tomorow is the Last Day to Enter Our Contest!

Hi readers!  Chrissa here, just reminding you that tomorrow (Sunday) is the last to enter our contest (which you can do here: http://thesaltysadollblog.blogspot.com/2013/08/dog-week-reader-photo-contest.html).

Dog Week: a look at Pet Beds

(Elizabeth tried to post this yesterday, but it didn't work, so I'm posting it for her today)
To-day (Friday) I was looking on the internet for a cute dog bed for Sugar, who doesn't have one.  Here's what I collected.
My first stop, of coarse, was American Girl.  This summer, they issued their new Sleep & Snack Pet Bed.  It's fairly cute, but a little to modern for my taste. (http://store.americangirl.com/agshop/html/item/id/226543/uid/267)
Next I looked at Esty, where I found the next three beds.

This bed, from Cute 'n Sassy Creations , has such a fun print!  But I didn't think Sugar wouldn't like it.
Payne St. Doll Boutique made this very good, wooden bed.  However, it's over our budget at thirty dollars.
And last but not lest, this sweet dog house from Beds and Threads.  They have other colors besides black and white if you look at their shop.  This is over our budget as well.
Those are the ones I looked at.  Which do like the best?

Disclaimer: I am in no way connected with American Girl, Esty, CutenSassy, Payne St. Doll Boutique, or Beds and Threads .  All opinions are my own .

Puppy Love: a Photoshoot

Yesterday (Tuesday) Chocolate Chip and I played in the backyard.
 "Come here, my sweet puppy!"

After our cuddle, Chocolate Chip, with a mischievous look on her furry face,  jumped on to my head and stole my sunglasses!
"You come back with my sunglasses!" I yelled after my running doggie.
But I wasn't a gymnast for nothing.  I did a flip and landed on top of Chocolate Chip.  Gotcha!
Laughing, I said "If you wanted to wear them, you should have just said so."
 Isn't she the cutest thing?

Walking away from the last picture, I tripped over my running dog.
"Oh! Chocolate Chip!" I screamed.  Looking reproachful, the furry canine licked my face softly.  "Oh, Chocolate Chip." I said, in a much different tone.
How could you not love a dog like that?
P.S. There's only four more days to enter our photo contest!  So enter soon!
