Salty Friend Friday!

Hi!  Elizabeth Grace and I are starting a new series, Salty Friend Fridays!  We got the idea from Jlove.  Hence:Friends Friday!  Each Friday we will let you meet a friend of us, the Saltys.  Today you get to meet our pets, Sugar and Chocolate Chip!

Here is Chocolate Chip.  She is my dog.  One thing is for sure: she has a LOT of energy.  If you don't believe me, look at this post:  Crazy Chocolate Chip.
This is Sugar, Elizabeth's dog.  She is a Yorkshire Terrier(also called a Yorkie).

Swimming with our Cousins!

Chrissa and I were pleasantly surprised the other day when our cousins, McKenna and Kit, invited us to swim at their neighborhood pool.

 It was a Scorching day.
 McKenna and Chrissa played ball.

I tried to sunbathe, but it was simply to hot.

So, instead I swam.  Don't you love that felling of when you just dive into the water?  Cold water feels so nice on a hot day like to-day.
That's all that we did this morning.
What did you do?

Crafting with Chrissa! Blessing Flags.

Hi lovely viewers!  Chrissa here.  Today I'm showing you how to make Blessing Flags.
This is a easy, fun craft!  And you can change this to wish flags when your birthday is close, or thankfulness flags at Thanksgiving.  But before you can do any of that, I have to show you how!
You will need:
  • A pen or pencil
  • String
  • Scissors
  • 8 by 11and a half sheet of paper (not shown)
  • Decorations like stickers, stamps, etc...
The decorations are optional, but they help add a little pizza to the flags.
Ok. This may look contemplated, but it isn't really. Just a lot of folding.  Fold you paper into 4ths (# one and two), then unfold and cut on the lines (# three).  You will now have four pieces of paper. Now fold each piece in half and cut along that line (#4).  You should have eight sheets of paper.
Few!  Glad we got past that.
Cut a long piece of string.  Fold your paper over the string like in this picture (not in half):
Then attach the paper to the other side by stapling.
Write who or what you are blessed to have...
Decorate, hang up, and you're done!
Happy Crafting!

Camping!

Hi all! Chrissa here!  Can you guess were we went over the weekend? (the photo kind of gives it away.)

 Elizabeth and I went camping!
 We hiked along a trail,
then came back to set up the tent.
Elizabeth baked beans while I made the sandwiches.

Mmm.... Nothing like fresh food.
The tent was all ready for bed,but I wasn't.
"Elizabeth, were can I change into my pajamas?" I asked.
"In the tent." she replied.
"But what if someone sees me?"
"Chrissa, no one will see you changing because there isn't anyone within ten miles of here!"Elizabeth said, exasperated.  (She doesn't understand my great fear of being seen while dressing.)
"OK, whatever." I sighed.  Sisters are great, but they can be annoying sometimes.
That pretty much sums it up.
What did you do over your weekend?

Meet a Salty! Elizabeth Grace

Chrissa and I thought that it would be fun for you all to get to know us, so we decided to do "Meet a Salty" posts.  I'm doing the first one. My name is Elizabeth Grace Edwards.  I adore photography, which is part of the reason I wanted to start this blog.  I have a sweet dog, named Sugar, who's a Yorkie.  She like to sit with me while I read, write, or do schoolwork.  My favorite school subject?  History.  There's quite a lot to learn about the history of our 500 year old city, St. Augustine. I love living in here, because we're very close to the ocean.  It doesn't matter if it's the ocean, a pool, or a river, I just love being in water, even if it's only my feet!
My favorite colors are light pink and turquoise, as you can tell from the picture.  To tell you the truth, I do not like wearing pants.  I rarely do, only if completely necessary.  Skirts and dresses are what I prefer.
As Chrissa says, have a sunny day!

Monday, last week

So, this week Chrissa and I are going to show what we did last week (we won't always line up the days so that we can post about other things too). We arrived at our hotel at 2:00pm...

 and soon were settled in.

I unpacked (Chrissa said that she just had to check the pool temperature).  Then when she came back up we relaxed, played dolls a little, and also made plans for the next of the week.

After dinner, we went shopping at Ron Jon's.
Did you have a spring break?
If you did, was it nice?

Happy Easter!

Hi friends! Chrissa here.  Elizabeth and I love to celebrate Easter.  But not only because of Easter baskets, yummy candy, pretty dresses or  brightly-colored eggs.  This is when we celebrate Jesus' resurrection from the grave.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

So have some fun and get dressed up a little, but don't you overlook the important reason why we celebrate this day!  Now, I'm going to show you what we did.
We made each others Easter baskets.  Pink for Elizabeth (her favorite color) and green for me (my 2nd favorite color).
Here we are with our Easter baskets.
I got a Build-A-Bear, Awesome BITS (my favorite candy), a shirt for my doll, a pen, and a anklet.
I gave Elizabeth a pen, strawberry hand lotion, a anklet, a Build-A-Bear, and a dress for the Build-A-Bear.

Weekend sewing

I, Elizabeth, have been sewing over the weekend, so I thought that I would show the profit of my work.

First of all, we have Chrissa modeling her new pajama shorts.

You can see them a little better here.
Here are the slippers I made for my doll.
I also made a dress and cape.

I'm twelve years old, so some would consider me to old to play with dolls, but in my opinion, you can never be to old for dolls.

P.S. We are going on a trip, so it isn't likely that ether Chrissa or I can post during this week.

Beach Braid

Hey all! Chrissa here!  Spring break is almost upon us, so today I'm showing you how to do the Beach Braid.  Elizabeth likes this style because it's a great way to get your hair off your neck, especially if you do sports.  If my hair was long enough, I'm sure I would like this style too.

First of all, the supplies you'll need:

  • Hair Brush
  • Water mister
  • Hairbands- You could use rubber bands, but in the water, these work better for active people
  • The knowledge of how to braid
Brush her hair (its kind of hard to do anything with it if you don't).
Put it in a pony tail;

Don't be alarmed that Elizabeth's clothes just changed.  Begin to braid...

Finish it up with a ponytail holder...

 And there you have it!

Next time you go to the beach, try this out!
