Happy Halloween!

 Hello, lovely readers!  It's hard to believe it's November already - October flew by so fast!  Anyway, here are some pictures of our Halloween costumes.  If you follow me on Google Plus, you would have seen Chrissa's already.

 Chrissa is a "Fashion Disaster".  I think she did this on purpose, just to annoy Georgia. 

 Speaking of Georgia, she was "Little Blue Riding Hood" because, as she says, "Red is so last season!"

I was less specific than my two sisters.  When people asked, I said that "I am a Renaissance girl."  I talked in a British accent the whole night - it was so much fun! 

I just wanted to let you all know that my sisters and I agree on the fact that the only thing we tolerate (and like) about Halloween are the costumes (Chrissa said to add the candy also).  None of us like all the gore and celebration of death that it seems to glorify.  Some people do, but we are not included.

A Shopping Expedition

 Hello, lovely readers!  Yesterday afternoon, my sisters and I took a visit to Joann's, because I wanted to make my self a new outfit for fall.

"A golden knit for the sweater, I think, and a leaf pattern for the skirt." I explained as we entered the store.

"Hey, this looks like my shirt!" Chrissa exclaimed, pointing to a polka-doted fabric.

"It does!" Georgia agreed. "Not exactly, but pretty similar."

"Would you two help me find the fabric?" I asked.

"Sure, sure." Chrissa said, glancing down the aisles.

"How about this?" Georgia suggested, pulling out a sparkly knit.

"Err - I think not.  It's rather shiny." I replied.

"I was kidding!  Your face was priceless." she laughed.

We roamed down the aisles, getting slightly distracted (which is quite fun to do in Joann's).

"Oh, Elizabeth!  You should make me a shirt out of this!" Georgia said excitedly.

"Look - it's even 40% off!" she added. "My birthday is only a couple mouths away!"

"Georgia, don't you think that it's kind of early for that?  After all, your birthday's not until February." Chrissa said. "Even Christmas is sooner."

"Maybe."

"This would be perfect for a Elsa dress.  Wouldn't it be cool if you made your own costume?"  Chrissa said, rubbing a icy blue material between her fingers.  "You would be a perfect Elsa for Halloween, Elizabeth."

"I don't think I'd like to dress as Elsa." I replied. "Making my own costume does sound fun, however."

"How about making Georgia and I costumes too?"

"Oh, Chrissa."

"Okay, you two have to admit that this would make a awesome cape." Georgia said, dramatically pulling some dark material around her shoulders.

"Yep!" Chrissa agreed.

We wander around, talking about costumes, fabric and (in my case) how there wasn't any suitable fabric for the sweater I wanted to make.

However, I did find a lovely fabric for the skirt, which you can see in the picture.  After paying, Mother came to pick us up and we drove home.

Trick or Treating on Halloween.

 Hello, lovely readers!  Chrissa and I went trick or treating last night in our neighborhood.

 Can you guess what we were?

Chrissa chose to be a surfer/beach girl.  She thought about bringing along my surfboard, but decided against it at the last minuet.

"It's too heavy." she claimed.

 My sister brought along a beach bag to collect her candy.

 To finish off her costume, Chrissa wore a anklet and flip-flops.

 I decided to be a chef.  Mother told me I should have worn a chef's hat, but I did not wish to.

 My light pink "leather" bag was perfect for carrying candy.

 As we walked up to each house, saying "Trick or treat!  Thank you.", Chrissa and I accumulated loads of candy.

 I don't know how we are going to eat it all!  If we eat it all, that is.

 "Trick or treating is so much fun!  Plus, who wouldn't want lots and lots of candy?" Chrissa said happily.  "I'm probably stocked until the Easter!" 

"Perhaps even the Fourth of July!" I agreed, as we shared a laugh.

Hallowenn Costume Deliberaton

 Hi all! This afternoon, Elizabeth and I were trying to decide what we would go as for Halloween.  Elizabeth thought we should write down our ideas, and I agreed.

 "Chrissa, you should not be eating so many candy corns!" Elizabeth scolded when I sat down with a bowl of the candy.  "We need to save them."

"But the whole point of candy corns is eating them." I argued. "Besides, once you start, it's hard to stop."  Elizabeth didn't look convinced, but she ceased to say anything more on the subject.  Insted, she started writing on her list.

 "Do you have any ideas yet?" I asked.

"Yes, I do." my sister replied. "You could be a surfer."

"O-o, I like it.  But I meant for yourself."

"Not exactly." Elizabeth said, frowning.  Her mood changed, and she quickly jotting something down on her list. For a few minuets, all that could be heard was the scratching of pencils on our paper.

"What do you have?" my sister asked, looking up from her writing-covered list.

 "Well, I could be a surfer, a movie star, a gymnast, or a chef." I read off of my paper.

"And what's on your list?" I questioned Elizabeth.

 "A photographer, a princess, an Egyptian queen, or a cupcake baker is all I have thought of so far." she said.  "I don't believe I would be a photographer,..."

Slowly, Elizabeth and I dicussed and crossed off things off our lists until only one choise remained...
