A Visit to American Girl Store Orlando!

Hello, lovely readers!  Last Thursday, we drove down to the Orlando American Girl Store and meet up with our cousins: Victoria, McKenna and Kit Brooks.
"IT'S THOSE PEOPLE!" Kit yelled when Mother dropped us off in front of the store.
"Kit-a-doodles!" Chrissa said happily.
"Chris!" Kit replied, squeezing my youngest sister in a hug.
"Good to see you again, Victoria." I smiled.
"Same to you, Elizabeth."
"This is so exciting!" Georgia and McKenna squealed in unison.  They looked at each other, and laughed.
Then Mother and Aunt Martha walked over.
After all the "hellos" and hugs were finished, Mother said, "Let's go inside, girls!"
(Note: To see any of the pictures larger, just click on the image.)
The first thing we saw when we walked in the door was all the historical displays.  It was interesting to see the changes on account of BeForever.
Here's two of the holiday dresses.  On the left is the Ruby Red Ballgown, priced at $50 (which is rather expensive, in my opinion), and the Happy Holiday Dress is on the right.  It was out of stock at the time, as you can see.
Most of my dresses are from American Girl, but it's still funny to see another girl wearing the same dress as me!
Ah, Samantha's Winter Coat - this is one of my favorites.  It's not especially practical in Florida, though.
"Kaya has the coolest tent!" Chrissa said.
"I bet if Elsa build a tent, her's would be cool too." McKenna joked. "Get it?  Cool?"
We laughed.

Julie looks a little shady in this picture.
Next, we moved on the the My American Girl section.  Below are pictures of the new-ish winter outfits.

"I wonder if any of those gifts actually have anything in them?" Georgia asked.
"Oh, they do." Kit replied confidently. "Boxes!"
"Brilliant, Kit." Chrissa laughed.
Kit flipped her short hair and said in a weird voice. "Thank you, darrrrrrling."

 What cute little pets!

Georgia tried on the Silver Shimmer Dress, but decided not to get it.
The other side of the store held a small section for the Girl of the Year, Isabelle.

After we made our purchases (which may have included some Christmas gifts), we stopped at the food court for lunch.  McKenna wanted to visit the Disney store, so we pecked in there too.
Then we drove to our cousin's house and spent the rest of the afternoon with them.
We drove home after dinner.
Where's your favorite place to shop?

A Shopping Expedition

Hello, lovely readers!  Yesterday afternoon, my sisters and I took a visit to Joann's, because I wanted to make my self a new outfit for fall.
"A golden knit for the sweater, I think, and a leaf pattern for the skirt." I explained as we entered the store.
"Hey, this looks like my shirt!" Chrissa exclaimed, pointing to a polka-doted fabric.
"It does!" Georgia agreed. "Not exactly, but pretty similar."
"Would you two help me find the fabric?" I asked.
"Sure, sure." Chrissa said, glancing down the aisles.
"How about this?" Georgia suggested, pulling out a sparkly knit.
"Err - I think not.  It's rather shiny." I replied.
"I was kidding!  Your face was priceless." she laughed.
We roamed down the aisles, getting slightly distracted (which is quite fun to do in Joann's).
"Oh, Elizabeth!  You should make me a shirt out of this!" Georgia said excitedly.
"Look - it's even 40% off!" she added. "My birthday is only a couple mouths away!"
"Georgia, don't you think that it's kind of early for that?  After all, your birthday's not until February." Chrissa said. "Even Christmas is sooner."
"Maybe."
"This would be perfect for a Elsa dress.  Wouldn't it be cool if you made your own costume?"  Chrissa said, rubbing a icy blue material between her fingers.  "You would be a perfect Elsa for Halloween, Elizabeth."
"I don't think I'd like to dress as Elsa." I replied. "Making my own costume does sound fun, however."
"How about making Georgia and I costumes too?"
"Oh, Chrissa."
"Okay, you two have to admit that this would make a awesome cape." Georgia said, dramatically pulling some dark material around her shoulders.
"Yep!" Chrissa agreed.
We wander around, talking about costumes, fabric and (in my case) how there wasn't any suitable fabric for the sweater I wanted to make.
However, I did find a lovely fabric for the skirt, which you can see in the picture.  After paying, Mother came to pick us up and we drove home.
Do you making your own things, or buying them?

Joy at Joann's

Hello, lovely readers!  As you may have guessed, Mother dropped Chrissa and I off at Joann's Fabric yesterday afternoon.  Because of the rain, the lighting was slightly strange, so don't mind the strange picture coloring.
Anyway, I was looking for dress fabric.
"... something with little flowers and vines, I think." I was explaining to my sister as we walked down the isles.
"What about this?" Chrissa asked, pulling out flowery blue fabric.
"Err - that looks almost the same as the dress I'm wearing, only lighter." I pointed out, walking over to where she was standing.
"On second thought, maybe not." Chrissa said, taking a look at my outfit and putting it back.
"Oh, this is practically perfect!" I whispered, gently lifting out a beautiful fabric. "What do you think, Chrissa?"
"Hey, how about this?" my sister wanted to know, holding out a rainbow striped fabric.
"I don't think that will work." I replied.  Chrissa laughed.
"I was kidding, of course." she smiled, sticking it back.
The only other pattern I liked was a pretty cherry blossom calico, but in the end I got the first fabric I found.  For the dress lining, I chose a deep pink.
"I have my fabric, so what do you want to do until Mother comes to pick us up in a hour?" I asked Chrissa.
"I dunno, why don't we just wonder around?"
"Very well." I said. "Oh - wait.  We need to get the camera bag fabric for the design contest." *
"How could I have forgotten?" Chrissa smacked her hand to her forehead.  "Let's go."  After we had all the fabric, we just drifted around.
"Do you like my fab hair?" Chrissa questioned in a funny accent with a boa on her head.
"It's just lovely." I laughed with her.
After the boas, we entered the yarn section, which Chrissa claims I spent to much time in.
"Okay, that's enough, let's go." my sister insisted, grabbing my hand and pulling me away.
As we were walking in the fabric section before we checked out, Chrissa discovered some soft, plush cloth.
"Ah, I could sleep in this ..." She wrapped the fabric around her arms. "You should make a blanket out of it, Elizabeth."
"Perhaps." I said skeptically. "I think we should go."
"Okay." my sister said with a sigh, pulling it off her shoulders.
After we checked out, Chrissa and I meet Mother outside and returned home.  It was so fun spending time with my sister at Joann's Fabric!
What's one of your favorite stores?

Garage Sales and the Library

Hi all!  This morning, my mom took Elizabeth and I garage saleing (if that's even a word)!  I found some neat stuff, namely ...
... a American Girl doll-sized horse, a set little dog figures, and a neck pillow, which will good for traveling.  Elizabeth just got some fabric.  By the time we got home, it was lunch time, so we sat down and ate.  Then, we packed up our books and headed to the library!
Upon we walking inside, my sister immediately went to look for some book series about princesses.  Mom and I returned the books we were done reading.  Then we went our separate ways to get new books!
Usually, I just meander down the isles, grabbing anything that looks interesting.
"Did you find any good books?" Mom asked later.
"I hope so." I smiled.  Elizabeth walked over, carrying two bags full of books, and looking perfectly happy.
"I'm set until next week." she said, making both of us laugh.
Then we all checked out, and hopped in the car.
"Shotgun!" I called, jumping into the passenger seat.
As a special treat, Mom took Elizabeth and I to the McDonald's drive-through.  I got a strawberry shake, of course.
I can't wait to start reading!
Do you like going to the library?
