A Walk and American Girl Dolls

Hi all!  I've had a lovely Saturday.  Let me tell you why.
So, after I had finished my chores this morning, I played on my Nook. After lunch, Chocolate Chip, my puppy, was going crazy (basically, it was time for a walk).
When Chocolate Chip heard me say "walk", her tail wagged furiously!  I hooked up her leash, and we were out the door!
The sun was shining and the birds chirruping. It's a beautiful day.
 Isn't she the cutest thing?

I love the camera angle on this one!
After my dog and I returned, I ran upstairs.
"What are you doing?" I asked my sister, Elizabeth.
"Oh, Chrissa!" she quickly turned around.  "I just finished a blanket for my dolls."
"That's so cool!  Speaking of AG dolls, do you want play?" I asked hopefully.
"That is an excellent idea."
So, Elizabeth reached out and set her dolls, Caroline and Beth, on her lap, ...
... and I grabbed Felicity and Nellie, who are mine.
We have had an awesome day, with the prospect of Saturday night pizza later for dinner.  Yum, yum.
How is you favorite way to spend a Saturday?

A Salty Flashback: Nellie and Felicity

Hi all!  Today, while playing with my two wonderful dolls, Nellie and Felicity, my memory drifted to when I first got them...
My love for American Girls goes way back to when Elizabeth first got her "My American Girl" doll Beth for Christmas.  After begging Elizabeth to let me play with her many times, my slightly annoyed, but still practical sister suggested that I look in the AG catalog for a doll of my own.  I did, and instantly fell in love with Nellie, who Mom, Dad and my Grandparents bought me for my 8th birthday.
Ever since I first saw her, I have adored her from her bangs...
... to her feet.  She is my first and treasured doll.
Two years later, Felicity, who has beautiful long red hair, came to me after much hinting and pleading on my part.
It's funny, because when American Girl sold Felicity, I wasn't into her very much.  However, after I saw her in person at a friend's house, I just had to have her because she is so gorgeous and her long hair is so much fun to style.
And have her I did, for my tenth birthday.  I even posted about receiving her here:  http://thesaltysadollblog.blogspot.com/2013/05/its-my-birthday.html.

Sunset with the Dolls: a Photo Shoot

Hello, lovely readers!  Today a cold front blew threw our area, so Chrissa and I have enjoyed nice, nippy weather!  When I noticed the beautiful way the sun was setting this evening (as it does earlier and earlier), I donned my sweater and carried Felicity, Beth, and Nellie outside for some pictures.  Enjoy!
 Felicity...

 ... Beth ...

 ... Nellie ...

 ... All together...

It is my hope that you enjoy these pictures as much as I liked taking them!

What Do You Do With A Cloudy, Saturday Afternoon?

Sitting dejectedly on our couch, Chrissa said "There's nothing to do."
"You could write a letter." I offered.
"No, I just wrote Libby a few days ago." Chrissa replied.
"Read?"
"No."
"Practice Gymnastics?"
"No, because it's all wet outside from the rain last night."
"Call one of your friends?"
"No."
"Make something?"
"I don't fell like it."
"Play with your dolls?" I suggested. "We haven't done that for quite a while."
"That's a great idea!" Chrissa said. "Let's go grab them and play down here."
"Here, I made these for your dolls." I said, giving Chrissa a little pair of pants and a little pair of shorts.
"Thanks, Elizabeth!" Chrissa said happily.  "I've got to try them on Nellie."

 The pants...

 ...and the shorts.
"Do you like Beth's ponytail?" I asked my sister.
"Yes- it's really cute." Chrissa said.
We played with our American Girls all afternoon.  Chrissa and I had loads of fun!
