Fun with a Friend

Hello, lovely readers!  Yesterday our pen pal, Kit P, came over for a visit.
"Kit!"  Chrissa hugged our friend. "It's been forever!"
"I know, right?  I wish we could see each other more often." Kit replied.
"It's so good to see you!" I added.  "Do you want to come up to our temporary room?"
"Sure!"
After we were seated on the bed, our friend pulled two wrapped gifts out of her bag.
"Chrissa, this one's for you, and this other one is for you, Elizabeth." she said, handing one to each of us.
Inside mine was a pretty pink dress and a "E" pillow, while in my sister's was a "C" pillow and a blue dress.
"Thank you so much." I said, admiring the dress. "Now I feel bad, because we have nothing to give you."
"That's okay." she replied. "I'm just glad you like it."
"What do you want to do?" Chrissa asked.  "We don't really have a long time."
"I don't know." I said.
Suddenly my sister smiled and exclaimed, "I know!  Why don't we get out all our clothes and have a fashion show?"
"Oo, that sounds fun!  We could have a runway and everything!" Kit said excitedly.
Everyone helped bring out the shirts, skirts, shoes, pants and dresses.
We didn't take as many pictures in the first round, but here they are!  By the way, do you like my new dress?
In round two, Kit went first, ...
 ... then me, ...
... and Chrissa wrapped it up.  When she was walking down the runway, my sister did a very silly strut (or dance, it was hard to tell which), making Kit and I laugh.
"You're so funny, Chrissa"
"Why, thank you.  I try to be."
After she had finished, we all went "backstage", changed outfits, and redid our hair.
 Here's round three.

After round three, we ended our show because our friend had to leave.
"Group hug!" Chrissa said. "I'm going to miss you, Kit."
"I will too.  Thank you for coming over!"
"Thanks for letting me! I had such a great time with you two!"
We walk Kit to the car where her mom was waiting, and sadly waved goodbye to our pen pal.  It was so fun seeing her again!
What do you like to do with your friends?

My Summer Goals

Hi all!  Okay, so it's not "officially" summer yet (according to my calender), but it feels that way to me.  So, I outlined 10 of the things I want to do this summer.
#1 Go on Vacation, preferably to North Carolina.
#2 Read more books than Elizabeth. I've tried to every summer, but some how she always wins.  It's fun anyway, though.
#3 Make new stuff for my AG dolls.  They could use some summer outfits. ;^)
#4 Eat loads of summer fruit like pineapple, watermelon, kiwi, and most importantly STRAWBERRIES!!!!!!!
#5 Swim as often as I can drag my family and friends down to the pool with me.  Even though I'm 11, I still can't go alone!
#6 Have sleepovers with all the friends that can come to my house.
#7 Bombard my pen pals (and besties, when I'm on that NC vacation) with 10-paragraph letters.
 #8 Call out-of-state friends.
#9 Buy this adorable outfit to do it all in.
#10 Avoid the Florida humidity as much as possible, taking refuge in the pool or behind a giant fan as necessary.
What do you want to do this summer?

Chrissa's Coustume Birthday Party

Hi all!  Today was my birthday party with my friends!  I wish you all could have joined me; it was so fun!  The theme this year was a costume party, so everyone came dressed up.  Once they arrived, I asked everyone to say their name and what they were dressed up as.
"I'll start," Felicity stated, "and Kit can go next."
"We can just go around the circle clockwise." Elizabeth quietly suggested.
"Okay.  Well, I'm Felicity, and I'm dressed up as a famous movie star." she said, tossing her head.
"I'm Kit. I'm wearing a dress that I found at the last second, I didn't know that we were supposed to wear costumes! Yea, sure the invitation said so, but still, we were in the car when McKenna asked, 'Aren't you going to wear a costume?' And so I ran inside and grabbed this from McKenna's closet and changed quickly."
"Thank you for that story, Kit.  Your turn, Izzy." I smiled.
"As she just said, I am Izzy and I'm a princess." my friend told us.
"That is a lovely dress, Izzy." Elizabeth commented.
"Thank you."
"Hello, I'm McKenna and I'm an Olympic figure skater."
Nellie, one of my friends from church, went next.
"My name is Nellie, and I'm dressed as a cheerleader."
"I'm obviously Chrissa, and I'm some kind of prairie girl someone-or-another." I said.
Elizabeth, who was sitting next to me, told her name and that she was dressed as a duchess (think Downton Abby).  Samantha was a cowgirl, and Sidnee was a rock star/famous singer (she had a great costume!).

The first activity we did was a photo booth.  Below are some of the pictures of us, a few with crazy accessories, some without.

Next, we played musical chairs.  I used music from Frozen, and Kit sang crazily along until we all insisted that she stopped.  The game turned out kind of wild, because there were many competitive people who would dive for the chairs.  In the end, it came down to Kit and Sidnee, Sidnee being the close victor of the game.
After the game, we got a group picture.
Then, it was time for cake!
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Chrissa, happy birthday to you!" they all sang, although you could almost only hear Kit, who was nearly shouting it.
"I want the first piece of cake!" Kit said.
"No, Chrissa is the birthday girl, so she's the one who gets it." Elizabeth insisted, setting it on my plate.
"I can have the second piece then." my cousin said.  It wasn't a question.
"Very well."
 Everyone enjoyed their cake.
But Kit's seemed to disappear faster than anyone else's!
Celebrating with my friends was so much fun!
What would be your dream birthday party?

To the Beach!

Hello, lovely readers!  Can you guess were Chrissa and I are?  We are in Hilton Head, South Carolina with our good friends, McKenna (henceforth called "Kenna" so as not to be confusing) and Rebecca Rubin.  Our family has not seen them for at least a year, so we were so excited to be with them again.  We're staying in a condo beach house together, along with our cousins, Kit and McKenna.
Yesterday morning, I woke up, and walked to the patio.  I can see the beach from there!
A little later, Mother called us all for breakfast, which looked delicious.

It's rather confusing, because Kit and McKenna and Kenna and Rebecca are cousins with each other, so Chrissa and I are second cousins with Rebecca and Kenna.
"Chrissa and I are going to the beach after breakfast. Do any of you wish to go with us?" I asked.
"McKenna and I are going to stay back and work on our gymnastics moves." Kenna said.
"I'd like to come!" Rebecca said.
"What about Kit?" Chrissa asked. "Speaking of Kit, where is she?"
"She's ether at soccer or volleyball game." McKenna said. "I don't remember which one."
"Let's go get our swimsuits on, Elizabeth and Rebecca." Chrissa said. "Are you sure you don't want to come?"
"Yes." McKenna and Kenna agreed.
Rebecca, Chrissa, and I walked to the beach.
"What should we do?" Rebecca asked.
"How about a group picture?" Chrissa suggested. "Before we get wet, of course."
"That's a wonderful idea!" I said.
How do we look?
"Hey, Rebecca" Chrissa said, "do you want to make a sandcastle?"
"Sure!"
While they played with the sand, I went on a walk by the ocean and picked up a few shells.
Later, my sister and Rebecca ran down to join me.
Walking on the beach is so refreshing.  Once we had our fill of the surf and the sand, Chrissa, Rebecca and I walked to the pool.

Chrissa and Rebecca went swimming in the clear, blue water.
We spent a lovely day in the ocean and in the pool with Rebecca yesterday.
Which do you like better, the ocean or the pool?
