Apple Picking at Erie Orchards

Hello, lovely readers!  At lunch this afternoon, Mother and Father agreed that we should go to Erie Orchards today to go on a hay ride and pick apples right off the tree.
When we arrived our parents had us stop for a picture, as normal.
There were ever so many pumpkins inside the building!
We took a hay ride to their apple orchards.
Thankfully, we were blessed with a beautiful, sunny day.  There was not a cloud in the sky.
"How does this one look, Mom?" Chrissa asked.
"It's a little green, Chrissa." she replied.  "Maybe this one, instead?"
 "Okay."
"This one looks tasty." I said, finding a radiant, rosy, red apple.
"Yea, that's a good one." Chrissa said, looking over my shoulder.
Over on the other side of the "road", green Golden Delicious apples hung in bunches.
We picked a few to enjoy. And oh, they looked and smelled wonderful!
Chrissa and I couldn't wait for Mother to make her mouth-watering apple pie from the apples we chose at Erie Orchards.
Have you ever picked apples?

To the Park!

Hi all!  Today Elizabeth and I finished our school early (yay!).  We played in the backyard for a little bit while Grandma and Mom made lunch, when Mom suggested that we go to the park.  Since the weather was so nice, Elizabeth and I agreed that it was a wonderful idea.
Elizabeth went on a walk around the park.
Meanwhile, I found the huge red slide.  It was so much fun to slide down!

Next, I climbed the rock climbing wall.

 Almost to the top!

After my sister finished her walk, Mom told us "Time to go, girls."
"Okay." I said. "We're coming."  In the car, Elizabeth told Mom
"I'm rather cold, Mother."
"Well, why don't we buy some apple cider or hot chocolate?" Mom said. "We could warm it up when we get home."
"I think apple cider," Elizabeth started, "because hot chocolate is more of a winter treat."
"Yea.  Apple cider sounds good." I agreed.
"Okay, apple cider it is." Mom said.
Going to the park to enjoy the fall weather and having warm apple cider was one of the best ways to spend a Michigan fall day.

In Michigan!

Hello, lovely readers!  That's right, Chrissa and I are in Michigan with our Grandparents.  Friday night we stayed with McKenna and Kit, who by the way are loving Florida, so their parents could drive us to the airport.

I chose the window seat; it's my favorite place on the plane.
Chrissa was stuck in the middle, across from our parents.  Our flight was direct to Detroit, so afterwards,...
...we caught a bus to the rental car station, where we picked out a car and started driving to our Grandparent's house.
Our family stopped at McDonald's for lunch.  Since our Grandparents were at a concert and wouldn't be home until after dinner time, Mother and Father agreed that we should stop at our favorite pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin.

There were so many to chose from!
Here are Chrissa and I in front of the pumpkins!

Chrissa with the pumpkin we picked.

 Here I am.

Aren't these flowers pretty?  We'll be spending the next week here in Michigan staying with our Grandparents.  Chrissa and I are enjoying the cool, with out humidity, weather.
Are you experiencing cold weather?

A Walk in the Park

Hi all!  This afternoon, I was really caught up in a great book...
...When something jumped on me!  "What was that?" I said, standing up quickly.

"Oh, it was you, Chocolate Chip." I said.  My dog whined at the door, and looked pleadingly into my eyes.
"I don't want to take you out right now, puppy." I told her. "I'm reading."  Chocolate Chip barked and pawed at the door.
"Whatever." I said, getting up. "But this better be quick."  Sighing, I followed my excited, running puppy downstairs, where I found Elizabeth cuddling with her dog, Sugar.

"Where are you going with that face?" my sister asked.
"To the park." I replied. "Chocolate Chip needs to do her...stuff."
"I see." Elizabeth said with a knowing smile. "Well, have a nice walk."
"Ug, I want to be reading, not doing this." I whined unhappily.  "Chocolate Chip!"
"Chocolate Chip?  Where are you?" I said, worried.  Elizabeth says you don't know how good something is until you don't have it, which I found to be true.  I searched all over the park, looking for her.  Calling her name.  I have never been more frightened in my life!  I mean, Chocolate Chip had run off before, but she always came running back when I called.
Suddenly, behind a latter, I saw a familiar brown body.  Chocolate Chip!
"Oh my sweet puppy, you can never gone running off like that." I said, half-scolding, half-hugging my squirming dog.

"Let's go home, Chocolate Chip." I said to my puppy. "That's enough excitement for one day."
Owning a dog is not always a walk in the park, in my opinion, it's always worth the trouble.
