Our Day At American Girl Store Denver!

Hi people!  Elizabeth and I went to the American Girl store in Denver today!  We had so much fun!

Here we are in front of the store.
Inside, all over, there lots of models displaying all the cute outfits.
"Wow." I said. "This horse is really pretty.  What's her name?"
"This is Bell.  The white horse over there is Snow White."  The model smiled. "We like to name them after Disney people."  She (I realized that I didn't know her name) looked at me curiously. "What's you name?"
"I'm Chrissa.  I'm here with my sister, Elizabeth." I said, pointing to where Elizabeth was standing. "Do you like horses?"
"I'm Katherine, and I love horses!  Sarah over there likes them too." Katherine said, pointing to the girl who was standing next to the other horse, Snow White.
"My friend Julie likes horses too." I sighed. "I wish she were here with me."
Katherine smiled understandingly.  "To get this job, I had to leave my roommate for the summer.  I miss her, just like you do."
"Chrissa!" Elizabeth called. "If you want try on all of these outfits you better get started!"
Here a few of the outfits Elizabeth and I tried on.
We had such a fun day at American Girl store Denver!

Last Day of Liberty's visit to Colorado

Yesterday was the last day of Liberty's visit, so we decided to spend it at the Alluvial Fan, because Liberty had never been there before.
We arrived there around lunch time, so we had our picnic, then took the short hike up to the falls.
Here we are in front of the river.  Chrissa and Liberty wanted to go wading, but I thought that the river was to swift, so I insisted that the find a cove.  And they did.
"How about this, Elizabeth?  It's not to deep or anything." Chrissa asked.
"That seems safe.  Have fun wading." I said.
"Why don't you come in with us, Elizabeth?" Liberty said.
"Well, I guess I could." I replied.
"Come on in!  It's great." Chrissa said.
"This is so much fun!" Liberty exclaimed.

We took some close ups of each other.  Here's Chrissa,
Liberty,
And me.
It was so nice to have Liberty come and visit us.

Friday with Libby

Hi all!  We spent today with Libby!  For breakfast, we e went to the delicious Silver Grill Cafe.
I had their Cinnamon Roll Toast.  It was scrumptious!
We went home to pack lunch, then drove to the Dam Store, which was near Estes Park.  We didn't buy anything.
Then it started raining!
On our way back home, we stoped at "the Cherry Store" as we call it because they have free samples.
I think you can guess from the picture what we did when we got home.
Libby and I invited McKenna to join us.
Look at the strange stuff we made!
Then we had the yummy dinner Elizabeth made.

Sugar, Caramel, and Chocolate Chip enjoyed their dinner.

Our Forth of July

Happy forth of July!  Liberty arrived yesterday, and we spent the day together.  After a quick breakfast, we went for a morning swim.

Chocolate Chip and Caramel went swimming too!
We swam for about an hour, then headed back to the house to get dressed in our Forth of July attire.

After dinner, we went to see fireworks.  We left our dogs at home, because as Chrissa said, "we didn't want our dog's eardrums broken".  We have had a very nice 4th of July.

More Great News!

I have wonderful news!  A week from today (Wednesday), Chrissa and I are going to the American Girl store in Denver!  We are both very excited about it.  This will be Chrissa's first time at a American Girl store!  Isn't that amazing?  We wanted to go with our cousin Liberty, who is coming to-day, but that didn't work out.  So, we are going by ourselves.
Have you ever been to an American Girl store?

A Sleepover with our Colorado Friends

Hi all you readers!  Last night we had a sleepover with all of our Colorado friends(and cousins!): Kit, McKenna, Paige, and Cara.  After a restful, sleep filled night (thanks to Elizabeth and Paige) we got up and had breakfast (again thanks to Elizabeth and Paige).
Elizabeth and Paige quietly discussed while washing the dishes,
Cara, McKenna, Kit and I talked about anything and everything in the living room.
"Did you know that Cara is my nickname?  My real name is Caroline." Cara revealed.
"I can see why you prefer Cara over Caroline.  Caroline such a long name." Kit said, looking disgusted.  "Short names and hair are so much better than long ones."
Here's a picture of all of us.  (From left to right: Top row -McKenna, Elizabeth Grace, Cara, Kit. Bottom row- Paige and I.)
Getting up, I said, "Come on upstairs with me.  I want to show you something."  Everyone followed me as I climbed up the stairs.
"Look, I hung up some posters by my bed.  Do you like them?"
After Cara, Kit, McKenna and Paige saw the posters,  we all got dressed and went home, which was only a staircase away.  On a completely different note, I am so excited that Libby is coming TOMORROW!!!  YA!!!

A day at Rocky Mountain National Park (and Estes Park)

I hope you all have enjoyed your Saturday as much as we did!  It started out at sunny Fort Collins, where we were staying.  At around ten o'clock, we left the house for Estes Park (the city).  By the time that we got to Estes, it was raining.

"This ruins our plans." Chrissa said dejectedly.  "And I was so looking forward to feeding the chipmunks on Chipmunk Mountain."  I drove around Estes, trying to figure out what to do.
"We shouldn't go home, because we already drove all this way. We might as well go into Rocky Mountain National Park since we have a pass." I said.
"But it's RAINING!" Chrissa practically shouted. "How much fun can you have in a national park, where you spend all the time outdoors, when it's raining?!"
"Calm down, Chrissa.  It's not raining very hard right now anyway." I said.  Suddenly, a sound like pebbles hitting the car began.  It had started hailing.
"Well isn't this a pretty little mess." Chrissa said, scowling.
"I know!  We can drive up to Bear Lake.  By the time we get up there, the hail will have probably stopped and the rain will just be a light drizzle." I said.
"But won't it be unsafe to drive up a mountain with the weather the way it is?" Chrissa nervously asked.
"Don't you worry.  It'll be fine." I comforted.
"Ok, if you say so." Chrissa sighed.
Just as I predicted, the hail had stopped and the rain was very light by the time we were at Bear Lake.  Chrissa and I took a very enjoyable hike around the lake.  Unfortunately, we couldn't bring our new camera out of the car because of the rain.  After Bear Lake, we drove to Sprauge Lake to have lunch.  Here are some pictures from our walk around the lake.

After Sprauge Lake,  it had cleared up, so we drove back to Estes Park and Chipmunk Mountain.
We road the tram up to the top.

The view was breath taking.
Here's a chipmunk eating one of the peanuts we gave him.  Chrissa has decided that besides dogs, chipmunks are now one of her favorite animals.  Usually, there are tons of chipmunks, chasing after you for peanuts, but yesterday it was hard to find any chipmunks who were hungry.  After taking the tram back down, we had dinner at McDonald's, then drove home.  How did you spend your Saturday?
